First Call for 2023 Anthology Submissions

Hello Strollers,

It’s time to think about submitting that special poem or cover art for the 2023 anthology. Look for full submission guidelines HERE.

Where to Submit:

Please email your poem or cover art submission(s) to: strollantho@writersguild.ab.ca

POETRY Submissions

Beginning Friday, November 11, 2022, poems will be accepted for inclusion in the 2023 anthology. How do you qualify to submit a poem? Just one simple criteria:

  • You’re a paid-up member of the Edmonton Stroll of Poets.

It’s that easy!

COVER ART Submissions

You do not have to be a Stroll member to submit a cover art entry. The Cover Art Competition is open to all.

Beginning Friday, November 11, 2022, we welcome photographs, drawings, etchings, sketches, details from a larger painting, graphic design art, or anything visually appealing that will fit on the anthology’s 8-1/2” x 9” cover. Subjects with a clear Edmonton connection are also appreciated. A limit of two cover art submissions will be accepted from any one person. (Please note: Due to enthusiastic participation by so many people, this is a change from the previous limit of three submissions per person!)

Deadline

The deadline for both poetry and cover art submissions is Sunday, January 15, 2023, which is in just over nine (9) weeks. I invite you to select your poem of choice for the Stroll of Poets Anthology 2023, and submit it sooner rather than later.

I look forward to hearing from all of you!

Call for Facilitators – Deadline Extended

An afternoon workshop is being planned for October 29 on Getting Round the Writing Circle. Facilitators are required for two hour-long workshops: How to Critique/Receive Critique and How to Organize/Facilitate a Writing Circle.

The first would deal with providing constructive criticism and receiving it. The second would discuss setting guidelines and dealing with possible situations that could arise. Honorariums would be provided to facilitators.

Please submit a brief proposal and your credentials to strollquestions@gmail.com by October 14.
